SCOTT ROBERTSON put in a brilliant performance for Gillingham last night as they knocked Coventry City out of the English League Cup. The 19-year-old bossed the centre of midfield, earning plaudits from supporters.
However, it was something that Robertson did during the penalty shootout. The midfielder stepped up and chipped the ball into the net as Steve Evans men went blow for blow with Coventry.
Not a great video, but very composed penalty from Scott Robertson tonight
For a 19-year old to chip a penalty and show the calmness at a crucial time, is good to see 👏 pic.twitter.com/wXx4Wn8KNs

Very impressed. Tenacious, worked hard, stood up to everything chucked at him and showed some real glimpses of ability with it. Liked the fact he didn’t let any of their players bully him or intimidate him.

Looks like he will be one of the first names on the team sheet. Wind him up and off he goes for 95 minutes of non stop action. Great stuff and a real coup for the Gills to get him. The whole squad will benefit from that last 20 minutes, really gelling now. COYG
