Video: Celtic Fan Given Tremendous Final Send Off In Dublin

John Wilkes was a familiar Celtic fan to all those in Dublin and particularly at St Margaret’s CSC. He was a much loved character with the Irish based Celtic support and regularly attended European away games too.

Tragically, just a day after Celtic’s Quadruple Treble triumph, which he celebrated with great joy, John unexpectedly passed away. The news came as a terrible shock to all those who knew him.

John was a proud Irishman, a fervent Celtic supporter and a passionate follower of Shamrock Rovers. He actually spent some time coaching at Rovers, many years ago.

On 28 December, his friends and family lined the streets of Dublin to give John a much deserved final send off. With tri-colours, Celtic flags, pyro and Celtic songs – it was a final farewell worthy of the man.

RIP John and Hail Hail.
