Video: Celtic Overcome The Toughest Test On The Road To Lisbon, On This Day

On this day in 1967, Celtic defeated Vojvodina 2-0 at Paradise to advance to the European Cup Quarter-Final. The result overturned a 1-0 deficit from the first leg and the winning goal didn’t arrive until the final seconds, when Billy McNeill headed home Charlie Gallagher’s corner kick.

That last gasp winner added to Stevie Chalmer’s goal and eliminated what the Lisbon Lions describe as the toughest test on their route to the trophy.

The above footage shows a real iconic moment in Celtic folklore. Few of us will ever tire of watching the footage from when Celtic conquered European.
