Kasper Schmeichel was named man of the match in yesterday’s 3-0 win over Hibs, and for a good reason as he produced several good stops to register yet another clean sheet for Celtic…
Kasper is one of the main reasons that we’ve conceded just four goals in league football this campaign so far. That means he has 12 clean sheets in the first 15 games, and with the record being 23 which was made by Fraser Forster in 2011/12, Kasper has a good chance to match or beat that tally this campaign.
Kasper cost us absolutely nothing
When Joe Hart decided to hang up his gloves at the end of last season, we needed a class act to replace him, and we got that and more with Kasper, and he cost us absolutely nothing!
It’s not just his shot stopping skills, but his mere presence and his ability with the ball at his feet, something that massively contributes to Brendan’s footballing philosophy. Kasper is a truly genuine world class goalkeeper.
Look at the sheer delight on the face of Kasper Schmeichel as the Green Brigade serenade him with “Last Christmas” after today’s Celtic – Hibs game.

Celtic solid at the back
Our central defence is looking more secure than ever with the partnership of Cameron Carter Vickers and Auston Trusty looking more solid with each passing game and Liam Scales beside CCV works fine too. Maybe the Scales/Trusty combo had some difficulties but remember it was these two who played in Bergamo against Atalanta and helped Kasper keep a clean sheet that night.
The central defence at Celtic seems solid but having a world class presence such as Kasper behind them is proving to be just as valuable.
Kasper is a genuine class act.
