Video: Perfect assist from Celtic’s Greg Taylor allows John McGinn to seal victory over Kazakhstan

He will probably be more focused on trying to break into the Celtic team just now, but Greg Taylor must be wondering if he will every get a decent chance to play for Scotland.

He’s a good young player, but he and Scotland are cursed by having only two potential top class players – and they both play at left back.

He’s taken advantage of the absence of Kieran Tierney and Andy Robertson tonight, he’s looked a constant threat getting forward and played a huge role in the clinching goal.

He broke the offside trap perfectly before sliding the ball across to John McGinn meaning he couldn’t miss:

John McGinn was the star player on the night but Callum McGregor and Ryan Christie looked particularly dangerous throughout. It might be tough for Taylor to ever establish himself at international level, but if he keeps playing well then you can’t ask for any more.
