Video: Perfect start for Celtic against Aberdeen as Callum McGregor pounces to make it 1-0

Aberdeen started the game full of bluster and trying to put the ball into the box as much as possible, but Celtic always looked dangerous on the counter.

And it’s taken less than 10 minutes to find the breakthrough, after some outstanding work from Leigh Griffiths and the ball was eventually put away by Callum McGregor.

It’s actually a great save from Joe Lewis to deny Forrest, but McGregor made no mistake:

The fight and desire from Griffiths is incredible to start the move, he out-muscles Scott McKenna on two occasions before getting the ball across, while Eddy shows some great unselfishness to work the ball over to Forrest.

Aberdeen have a tendency to struggle when they go down, so the timing of this goal is perfect.
