Video: Referee sends off Callum McGregor only after letting Rangers score from advantage

Referee Nick Walsh decided to show Callum McGregor his second yellow card of the afternoon but only after letting Rangers play advantage to score their opener of the game. McGregor was booked shortly before for clipping Ryan Kent in what was an incredibly soft booking; however, the Celtic vice captain tackled Glen Kamara and Walsh decided he was going to be shown red.

The defending from Celtic was poor at the goal but the question remains as to what the referee was doing for the first booking and why he was so card happy on his first Glasgow Derby. Kemar Roofe used his chest to deflect the ball goal wards, beating a stranded Scott Bain.
