Video: Such a joy for us see – James Forrest’s Late Winner sinks the Rangers

On this day in 2019, Celtic beat theRangers 2-1 at Celtic Park to open up a huge 13 point gap over Steven Gerrard’s hapless side at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

An incredible first-half display from Celtic saw Neil Lennon’s side 1-0 up at the break as Allan McGregor’s heroics kept Celtic at bay. Odsonne Edouard’s finish was all that Celtic had to show for a dominant first half.

TheRangers on the other hand were reduced to ten men when the volatile Alfredo Morelos lashed out at Scott Brown. Whatever was said at half-time in the visiting dressing room, it seemed to work. Gerrard’s side came out and managed to get a goal as they carved out a number of chances. 1-1 as Ryan Kent went beyond Dedryck Boyata and Mikael Lustig a bit too easily.

Celtic didn’t lie down. A short pass from James Tavernier gave Callum McGregor the chance to play in Odsonne Edouard. Edouard’s pass set up James Forrest, who took a touch before shooting beyond Allan McGregor.

So it ended 2-1 to Celtic and we enjoyed yet another Beautiful Sunday against theRangers.
