Video: ‘The Age of Ange’, getting to know Celtic target Postecoglou

Former Australian National Team manager Ange Postecoglou is the favourite to become the next permanent manager of Celtic in the coming days. The 55-year-old is currently head coach of J-League side Yokohama F Marinos but is expected to become Celtic’s new manager after negotiations with the ex-Brisbane Roar manager went well. Eddie Howe had been widely expected to be announced but the deal fell through due to differences in approach to the backroom staff, leaving the door ajar for Postecoglou to become the frontrunner for the job.

The ‘Age of Ange’ was a documentary from 2015 following Australia’s Asia Cup triumph which details his early life, career and how he views the game. It is an interesting watch and worth looking at the story of the man behind some successes in the Southern Hemisphere.

In isolation, he is an interesting candidate and one that could do very well at Celtic. Unfortunately for him and through no fault of his own, he will arrive under intense scrutiny after the club’s very public and very lengthy pursuit of Eddie Howe. Not to mention the horrible year for decision making that the club have had.
