Video: Treble chance and Celtic’s goalscoring phenomenon

Fran Alonso’s Celtic FC Women’s side have already won the League Cup back win December – setting the standard for Ange Postecoglou and his Bhoys to follow later in the month and on Wednesday night The Celtic FC Women’s side got their Scottish Cup campaign underway with a victory over Edinburgh City by an incredible scoreline of 12-0.

Five of this incredible Celtic dozen were were scored by the one and only ‘gets the ball, scores a goal’ Charlie Wellings taking her total for her first season at the Hoops to 22. How many before the season is over from Charlie? 30? 40 maybe…

Celtic have released a Unique Angle video on the twelve midweek goals. Fran Alonso’s team now faces a home match against theRangers next month in the next round of the Scottish Cup and pretty much need to go on a winning run on the league if the title is to end up at Celtic rather than theRangers or long-time Champions Glasgow City.

Having attended both League Cup Finals last month and enjoying both immensely (apart from catching Covid at Hampden which sort or ruined Christmas) it was clear to see that these Celtic sides under Fran Alonso and Ange Postecoglou are more than capable of delivering trebles.

And if that’s going to happen for the women’s team a big part is going to be played by our goalscoring star Charlie Wellings.
