Watching Glasgow Celtic – “Last minute winners in Dubai”

As the song proclaims – ‘Everywhere we go, we’re watching Glasgow Celtic putting on a show,’ and that was just as true in Dubai on Saturday evening as it was at Celtic Park.

Jota’s cross, and the freezing of time, as Liel Abada controlled the Portuguese winger’s delivery and put the ball into the net, was met by an incredible eruption of noise inside Celtic Park, and the scenes inside the stadium it seems were matched by the Dubai Hoops CSC in the Emirates.

The social media clip of the post goal celebrations is brilliant to watch and it just goes to show, no matter where you are in the world there is always somewhere you can join the Celtic support to celebrate a Celtic win.

If it’s like that for a winning goal against Dundee United, just imagine the scenes for a winning goal in the Glasgow Derby on Wednesday night. And for any Celtic fans heading out to Dubai, you know just the place to go to ensure you’ll be able to watch the Glasgow Celtic putting on a show!

As a Bellshill Bhoy I was taken to my first Celtic game in the summer of 1987. It was Billy McNeill’s return to Celtic Park as manager and Celtic lost 5-1 to Arsenal . I thought I was a jinx, I think my Grandfather might have thought the same. It was the finest gift anyone ever gave me when he walked me through Parkhead's gates.
