“We’ve found some great form in the last few weeks,” Brendan Rodgers

BRENDAN RODGERS spoke about the competitive nature of the Scottish Premiership this season and he’s loving every minute of it. The Celtic manager was back home in Ireland and took the opportunity, as he always does, to visit the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice. Brendan is also a regular visitor to the adults’ hospice – he described the staff there as ‘absolute angels’, calling them inspiring.

For the Celtic boss these trips are very personal and really important to him, allowing him a way of “staying in touch with reality”.

“For me, it’s very inspiring because in football you live in a bubble really,” Brendan told the local BBC Sports reporter.

Watch the interview with Brendan in the link below where he talks about Rangers boss Steven Gerrard, Neil Lennon, Craig Levein and Steve Clarke. He notes that the league campaign is in its early stages as we’ve only played around a dozen games but accepts that it seems more.

It’s a very competitive league and the games are always tough. We’ve found some great form in the last few weeks.”

On the Rosenborg game, he described it as being ‘very important; after the ‘great performance’ in beating RB Leipzig.

“We want to go into that game and pick up the three points,” Brendan said. That would set up a very special last match in the group stages against Salzburg, under the lights at Celtic Park.

We are running a series of extracts from David Potter’s new book during the international break. David is a well respected Celtic historian and author and is a valuable member of our team at The Celtic Star. Another feature on the go at the moment is from Matt Corr, who some of you will know from his Tour Guide Duties at Celtic Park. Matt has been taking a look back to Celtic’s season 1982-83 and we’ve had four instalments so far. Highly recommended reading and the the various links are below.
