Yaya? ‘Over to You, Celtic FC’, Kolo? ‘He’s great with players,’ Rodgers

THE YAYA TOURE rumour simply will not go away. Celtic ‘sources’ are telling some media, apparently, that there is no interest in the former Manchester City star who is a free agent at the moment.

Yaya appeared on Sky Sports tonight and was asked about the interest in Celtic and he did seem to say that a move to Celtic could be ON…have a look at this and make your own mind up.

“Celtic is a great team. Let me speak with Brendan, then we will see,” Yaya said.

“You never know, maybe I could end up in Scotland, or England… or maybe France, anyway, I want a choice to maybe play one more year at a high level and after that I will decide where I will go.”

Whatever happens with his brother, one thing that is clear is that Kolo Toure is playing an increasingly influential role at Celtic as a key member of the manager’s backroom staff.

And Brendan Rodgers believes that Kolo will be crucial in helping develop new £2million signing, 22 year old Vakoun Issouf Bayo.

“He is a young striker with talent,” Brendan said to the media.

“But, of course, at that age he is one who fits the model of Celtic, which is about young players, bringing them in, developing them and maximising their potential.

“But he has been playing first-team football. He is a good size, a good athlete, Kolo has worked with him as well with the Ivory Coast national team and there is a connection there as well.

“He is one who will be very hungry to do well and Kolo is great with players like that. They can relate to him as a top athlete with a fantastic career.

“He is one who can connect with those guys and speak openly about the whole experience. That is something that attracted the boy as well and it will be great to see how he does,” the Celtic manager stated.

And he believes that Kolo will also be of great value to the progress of the two loan signings Oliver Burke and Timothy Weah.

“It’s a chance for the young boys like Oli and Timo and young Bayo and they increase our options for the second part of the season,” Brendan said.
