‘Wild Rumours’ as Glasgow bound Bayo says his farewells and thanks ‘Persistent Support’

CELTIC’S new strike Vakoun Issouf Bayo will today meet supporters of his former club DAC to say his goodbyes, pose for photographs with the fans and sign autographs, his former club has revealed.

FC DAC 1904 have also revealed that the player has been remained in Slovakia sorting out the ‘personal affairs associated to moving to Scotland’ and it looks like he will be Glasgow bound after today’s farewell.

“Bayo spends these days in Dunajská Streda, where he deals with the personal affairs associated with moving to Scotland. As a fan of support, he suggested a meeting that we can call a final farewell to our club,” FC DAC 1904 stated on social media.

“With love and gratitude, I will remember the DAC fans,” the new Celtic striker said.

“Their persistent support helped me to make a big difference to last year’s goals, they also made a significant contribution to getting a move to Celtic.

“I hope I can thank many of you personally for the love I got” said Bayo.

There were wild rumours sweeping through Celtic social media last night about a some new signing being announced at Celtic Park, with Victor Wanyama’s name being mentioned – yet we cleared this up on Saturday for you, see HERE.

There will be a media conference to formally announce the signing of Vakoun Issouf Bayo and this will happen this week. The player’s signed subject to a medical and work permit and both of these formalities will have to be completed before this happens.

Bayo flew into Dubai over the weekend – presumably for his medical and Celtic will have been busy working on his work permit while the team trained in Dubai.

Meanwhile club legend Lubo Moravcik has been speaking about his role in this exciting new signing for Celtic.

“The Celtic leadership asked me about Bayo, and I told them to get him,” Lubo told the media.

“Though I did not pay attention to just him, I know him from the Slovakian league. In the game against Nitra, who I work for, he played very well. He scored a goal and was dangerous all the time.

“The only question is, will you be able to get used to the new environment. I think yes and I fully believe this. When Celtic were looking for an attacker for two million, they couldn’t wait to get a football star.”

Moravcik also revealed that Celtic were looking for a top quality striker available at a low price, despite of course selling Moussa Dembele for £20million to Lyon in August.

“They wanted a player who was not expensive but still had quality. Bayo is this player. Celtic is a great club for Bayo, and can serve as a springboard for even bigger clubs.

“African players come to Europe, shine themselves, move on to a better league, and then get even better. Bayo can follow this path. I wish him well.”

Lubo’s recommendation counts for a great deal and this will give Celtic confidence that they have unearthed the next big money future transfer. Enjoy him while we can, seems to be the message.
