AFTER The Celtic Star broke the news this morning that Celtic had sold just under 50,000 season tickets by the Renewal Deadline of 5pm on Tuesday, the club have now officially thanked the support for the outstanding backing ahead of this hugely significant season for the club.

“Thank you to the thousands of season ticket renewers!” is the headline on the latest update on the official Celtic website. Here’s what the club have been saying: From everyone here at the Celtic, we want to say a huge thank you for once again showing your fantastic support of the club by signing up for the campaign ahead.

The 2020/21 Season Ticket renewal period has now officially ended and thousands of you have stood by us during what we know have been incredibly difficult times. You have backed the club and by renewing your Season Ticket you are supporting our pursuit of 10.

Everyone at the club is preparing for a hugely exciting season, and we can’t wait to continue this journey together.

With the renewal window now closed, focus turns to the Season Ticket Waiting List. On Monday, 13 July, the initial allocation of Season Tickets will be released in chronological order to supporters on the Waiting List, who will then have a 24-hour window to secure their Season Ticket. Supporters who joined the Waiting List first will receive a communication from the club this week inviting them to purchase a seat from Monday, 13 July.

We will be in touch in the coming days with more specific information on your “Pass to Paradise” and the virtual element of you Season Ticket.

Thanks again Celts! Here we go!

Celtic are also expected to clarify details on the three friendly matches that are happening over the next few weeks over in France. And there could well be a friendly match at Celtic Park on 25 July with social media buzzing with a rumour that a thousand supporters could be admitted to this game. The games in France, against Lyon, Nice and PSG will all have approximately 5000 spectators at each game, in line with the current advice from the French Government, but there will be no allocation to tickets for a travelling support.

Hopefully Celtic are going to organise this as the ‘added value’ that was promised by the club recently also on the official website.
