“A feeling of disillusionment is growing” – Statement from The Association of Irish Celtic Supporters’ Clubs

The Committee of The Association of Irish Celtic Supporters’ Clubs has this morning released the following statement to their members after entering into dialogue with Celtic over the past few days. They   note the lack of communication from the club, as we have already written about this morning on The Celtic Star, and believe that there should have been a change in the management team already, noting that there is a feeling of disillusionment growing among the support and warning that this is going to have an impact come season ticket renewal time.

Hopefully the AICSC statement will also be followed by similar statements from The Celtic Supporters Association and the Affiliation of Registered Celtic Supporters Clubs. We will be happy to publish both statements – just contact us on social media or email at editor@thecelticstar.co.uk

Here is the AICSC Statement in full…

AICSC Statement

Recent days have seen us in direct contact with Celtic to again express our disappointment and ongoing concern regarding the current situation at the club. In a season which had promised so much, very few could have envisaged us to be in the dire position in which we find ourselves in the early weeks of 2021.

Again, we outlined the concerns of our members regarding the lack of communication by the club and the perceived resistance to change in terms of the current management team. It is our view that change sooner rather than later would be more beneficial.

We also took the opportunity to highlight our concerns regarding the potential consequences of further inaction, in relation to season ticket renewals in the coming months as a feeling of disillusionment is growing among our members and indeed the wider Celtic support.

As always, we will continue to liaise closely with the club and keep our members updated through our usual channels.

  1. I suspect this is part of a financial strategy from the Celtic board. The big manager announcements will be made right before the season ticket renewal call for maximum impact and minimum payoff for NL.
