Big mouthed Czech star disrespects Scotland

Big mouthed Czech Republic international Jakub Brabec has came out and disrespected Scotland by claiming that he and all his Czech Republic teammates want to draw Scotland because they want an ‘easier’ draw. Brabec boasted that they feel confident of beating Scotland because of how comfortable their victory over Steve Clarke’s side was in the summer Euros at Hampden Park.

Scotland came undone that day due to a wonder strike from Patrik Schick, who scored from the half-way line past David Marshall in the Scotland goal. In all honesty, Scotland never set-up well that day because of an injury to Kieran Tierney. Clarke let his uncertainty transfer onto the team which consequently affected the team on the park because of the playing not to get beat tactics employed by the former Kilmarnock man.

However, mouthy Brabec insists they all want to draw the Scots on 3 December for the play-off in March 2022. He said: “Of course we all want to draw Scotland in the draw, as reported by Scottish Sun. They would obviously be easier than Portugal or Italy and we played Scotland at the Euros in front of their own fans and beat them easily. We want a lighter opponent. Of course, it’s a World Cup and anything can happen, but if I could pick, I would choose to play Scotland.

He continued: “Remember, when we play in March we will be a far stronger team because we will be able to call upon Patrik Schick and Jakub Jankt, who were both injured. We will be even better at the play-offs than we were at the Euros.”

The Aris Thessaloniki player is highly mistaken if he thinks that Scotland are an ‘easy draw come the March play-offs. This group of players are hungry for success, and the majority of them are not influenced by previous failings in qualifying campaigns for World Cups and Euros tournaments.

Clarke’s men will be feeling confident and will also be buoyed by their defeat of Denmark, whilst their previous play-off victory against Serbia last year will embolden the Scots. We all hope and pray that Scotland turn up like they did against Denmark last week, whoever they draw in December. It would be great to draw the Czechs and then dump them out after their mouthy arrogance in the lead up to the draw.

I'm a Garngad Bhoy through and through. My first ever Celtic game was a friendly against Italian side Parma at Celtic Park, in 2002. Currently a student of English Literature and Education at the University of Strathclyde for my sins. Favourite game would be a toss up between beating Manchester United with that Naka freekick, or the game against the Oldco when Hesselink scored in the dying seconds. I'm still convinced Cal Mac is wasted playing that far back.
