Boyata’s Wrong Number, Celts Take and Make Nicosia Show, Watch San Marino’s Joy

FORMER Celtic Star Dedryck Boyata got his numbers all mixed up in Moscow today as Belgium thumped Russia 4-1 as Roberto Martinez’s side aims to finish off the Euro Group I with a perfect ten wins from ten when they play Cyprus in Brussels next week. Both Russia and of course Belgium had already qualified and it’s surely going to take a very good side to stop Belgium next summer.

So far their 9 wins from 9 has netted 27 points, impressive numbers today from Belgium but maybe not the former Celtic defender who seems to have got his own numbers all wrong.

Boyata started the match as Belgium’s No.4 but came out for the second half wearing the 23 shirt that belonged to Belgium substitute Michy Batshuayi. Dedryck played with the wrong shirt for around 13 minutes before being forced to change but the Belgium Number 23 shirt later in the match made a re-appearance when Batshuayi came off the bench.

There was a big Celtic influence in Scotland’s 2-1 win against Cyprus in Nicosia this afternoon. Ryan Christie got his first Scotland goal early in the match with an outstanding strike, and after being pegged back with an outstanding strike early in the second half, James Forrest and Greg Taylor combined brilliantly down the left hand side before the full-back’s cross found John McGinn to score the winner for Steve Clarke’s side.

Meanwhile look at these celebrations from the San Marino players when they scored their first goal of the campaign in the 3-1 defeat to Kazakhstan. San Marino’s goal difference stands at minus 45.

Kazakhstan who beat Scotland 3-0 in the opening game when Alex McLeish was in charge, come to Hampden on Tuesday night.
