Celtic may have plenty of talented youngsters, but there will always be a huge gap between the youth team and the first team.
Neil Lennon’s team are expected to win every single game, so it’s hard to give chances to young players who may need time to learn and make their mistakes.
Even going out on loan to another Premiership side might not be enough as it’s impossible to replicate the pressure they will feel at Celtic Park, so it’s almost expected that talented kids will have to leave to properly start their career.

Calvin Miller was highly rated at one point as an attacking left back, but he’s failed to impress in a couple of loan spells and hasn’t managed to break into the Celtic side either.
As a result, Football Insider have reported that Miller has been told to find himself a new club at the end of the season when his contract expires.
It might not be a huge surprise, but it does look like Jonny Hayes is on his way out so there could be a need for another left back to challenge Taylor and Bolingoli, but he won’t get that chance.
His first loan spell at Dundee was unfortunate as he was forced to play in an absolute basket case of a side, but his more recent spell at Ayr should’ve given him a better chance to impress.
There’s no sign of him finding a new club yet, but a lower Championship club seems to be his level just now.
