Celtic have bid rejected for breakthrough Albanian star

We’ve already seen that the Albanian President can’t get enough of Celtic, so it would be incredible to see what he would be like if an Albanian player signed for the club.

Lindon Selahi has broken through for club and country last season and he looks like a talented player, and it sounds like Celtic are interested.

A report from Albania outlet Sport Ekpres was picked up by The Boot Room, and they claim that Celtic have had a bid rejected for the FC Twente player.

Selahi broke through in the Eredivisie last season and even found his way into the Albania team, so it’s clear he does have some talent.

He can play anywhere in the midfield from the number 10 role to sitting in front of the defence, so that versatility could be useful if he does sign.

Twente have fallen a long way since winning the league in 2010, as financial issues forced them into relegation so they probably won’t be in a position to hold out for a huge fee.

It’s hard to tell how much difference this could make, but the report also suggests that he shares an agent with Kristoffer Ajer, so perhaps that might help things too.

There are no amounts mentioned about the bid or any indication if Celtic will go back with an improved offer, but it’s another name to keep an eye on this summer.
