Celtic Legend’s Message to Green Brigade – ‘Thank You My Love’

FORMER Celtic Star Mikael Lustig took to his Instagram account to respond to the brilliant banner that the Green Brigade displayed at Celtic Park yesterday and Rennes. This was the first chance that the support had to recognise the outstanding contribution that Sweden’s right made to the Celtic cause over the last 8 years.

Lustig left after protected negotiations with Celtic on the terms of a new deal failed and instead joint Gent in Belgium. He scored the goal at Pittodrie that effectively won the league and if you look back on his celebrations after that, there does seem to be a message in there.

He also got the assist for Odsonne Edouard’s winner in the Scottish Cup Final on 25 May so he went out on an incredible high.

Yesterday the Green Brigade thanked Mikael for his 8 wonderful years as a Celtic Star with this banner, which we reported on exclusively yesterday afternoon.  Referring to the popular chant for Mika,  the banner read “Lustig You’re The One – Thank You’ and featured an image from his pose after Celtic dramatic win over the Rangers in March when the indisciplined Ibrox players ripped his shirt in the fracas that they caused after Scott Brown celebrated the win.

Lustig’s Instagram response showed that the love in is mutual, simply saying “Thank You My Love”.

He has promised to be back for the Ten in a row party, but hopefully Celtic will do all they can to get him over for a game and onto the pitch for a proper goodbye in from of 60,000 Celtic Supporters, who all would want to thank Lustig for all he’s down for our club.
