Celtic news round-up: Possible goalkeeper departure, a strange striker link and Edouard needs your help

It’s possible that the footballing world is still trying to recover from the hilarity caused by Andy Halliday’s comments yesterday, as the rumours surrounding Celtic have slowed down a bit for one day.

The goalkeeping situation is huge just now as the fans wait to see what happens with Fraser Forster, but it’s a possible departure that dominated the headlines today.

Even if Celtic don’t get Forster it feels like a new number one will be brought in, so it doesn’t make sense to go with Craig Gordon and Scott Bain for another season.

The situation at Hearts means it’s still not clear if Gordon could go back to Edinburgh, so it’s emerged that St Mirren are looking to sign Gordon as a replacement for Vaclav Hladky.

It still feels like any available striker is being linked with Celtic Park so Lyle Taylor is the latest name to appear.

Some fans may remember him from a productive spell at Falkirk and he’s been prolific down south for a few seasons now, but the link has also been made by Jim White so make of that what you will.

And finally, Get French Football News are holding a vote to see who the public think is the most impressive French youngster in the game right now.

Odsonne Edouard has beaten off some impressive names to get to the final where he’s slightly behind Arsenal defender William Saliba, so you can vote here if you haven’t already done so.
