Celtic will open new talks with Venlo and the player’s representatives over the potential signing of Georgios Giakoumakis. According to Giannis Chorianopoulous, Celtic’s go-to man for Greek football news relating to the club, Werder Bremen have improved their offer for the striker but they have not reached an agreement with the Dutch club. Celtic have an agreement with Venlo but will need to up their offer for the 26-goal striker.
Giakoumakis talks with Werder (almost) collapsed. A new round of negotiations with Celtic has been scheduled for next hours!@CelticFC @werderbremen_en

Giakoumakis transfer as we speak: Celtic have agreed terms in principle with Venlo but not with the player. Werder ‘s offer is more close to Giakoumakis demands but German club have not agreed terms with Venlo@CelticFC @werderbremen_en #CelticFC #Celtic #Werder #WerderBremen

This is developing into a saga as the days go on. Each day appears to bring a new update and yet no decision has been reached. The player is clearly trying to get a better deal for himself after a brilliant season in The Netherlands. However, if Celtic are not his first choice then the club should look to move on from the player that scored 29 times in all competitions last season.
Celtic’s transfer business has been excellent so far, even if it has taken a number of weeks to come together. Odsonne Edouard could still move on in the next few days but as the transfer deadline looms large next Tuesday. If the Frenchman goes, you would expect the club to act quickly in terms of recruiting a new striker.
Eddie Howe, here we go again, come on Celtic make a decent offer, not liewell low ball cheapskate offer,a decent offer if he doesn’t accept tell him to do one and go elsewhere ,but please Celtic don’t penny pinch and lose a good player.
