Celtic’s David Turnbull named SPFL Star of the Week

David Turnbull has been named as Star Man in the SPFL Team of the Week after the midfielder scored a hat-trick as Celtic beat St Mirren 6-0 on Saturday. The SPFL released the TOTW today and it was Celtic’s No.14 that stood out as the Star Man following the 22-year-old’s contribution at the weekend.

An opening pair from Liel Abada gave Celtic the lead but it became the David Turnbull show thereafter. Turnbull made it 3-0 with an excellent strike from distance. Turnbull made it 4-0 to Celtic after an error from the St Mirren goalkeeper. The Scottish midfielder got a second of the afternoon after Alnwick fumbled a cross, allowing Celtic’s No.14 to stick the ball into the net. The first half finished 4-0 to the Celts.
