Celtic supporters will wish Jota well at West Ham

‘All the best to Jota at West Ham’, that will be the overwhelming sentiment from the Celtic support towards our former Superstar from Portugal…

Jota looks very likely to end his lucrative yet extremely unhappy stay in Saudi Arabia by joining former Celt, Davie Moyes at West Ham. The East London club, as reported earlier on The Celtic Star, has agreed to join the Premier League club and a deal with Al-Ittihad looks imminent to allow Jota to fly to London for a medical ahead of the transfer window closing.

Whether that is a permanent or loan deal remains to be seen, but it looks almost likely that Jota will be playing in the EPL and that will be interesting to watch. Our Superstar from Portugal was a tremendous player for Celtic. He was an entertainer while he also popped up with a vitals goals on a regular basis.

We can’t really fault him for joining Al-Ittihad as it was life changing money on offer to the 24 year old. Most would have found such an offer hard to turn down. Unfortunately for Jota it hasn’t worked out for him in the Gulf state, but with a move to West Ham on the cards, he will get the chance to play at a level and in a league his talents deserve.

Let’s hope he flourishes and I’m confident that he will.  He was a good servant to Celtic, as Bertie Auld used to say, he’s an  entertainer and Jota remains popular amongst the Celtic supporters. He deserves nothing but success, and the best wishes from all the Celtic supporters.

Best of luck Jota, go smash it for the Hammers!
