Make no mistake, it will be curtains for Nancy, it’s just a matter when and not if and to survive longer than tomorrow he simply has to find a way to win against Aberdeen…

So it looks as if our incompetent board have decided to stick by under fire Wilfried Nancy, and we have no other option but to do the same tomorrow afternoon.
I stand by my opinion that he should have been dismissed after his fourth defeat from four games at Tannadice on Wednesday night against Dundee United. Saying that l’ll be happy to be proven wrong, and believe me, I would love nothing better than to be made to look like a fool, and will happily apologise if he does indeed turn the tide, and becomes a successful Celtic manager. Some supporters will still believe in him but at present they’d probably be in a tiny minority.
It’s clear as day however, that the Frenchman hasn’t got the credentials to be Celtic manager. He looks lost, and his stubbornness and belief over his footballing principles and philosophy will swallow him alive in the goldfish bowl that is Glasgow. He had the chance to speak to Martin O’Neill ahead of his first match yet instead of picking the Celtic legend’s brains for a few hours the conversation according to Martin lasted 15 minutes and on Radio Scotland this afternoon it was stated that Nancy did most of the talking!
I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt after his first two defeats, but last Sunday’s shambolic Premier Sports Cup final defeat to St Mirren at Hampden Park followed by Wednesday night’s lacklustre performance and shambolic defeat at Tannadice was the final straw, for me and for the travelling support who told Nancy where to go and followed that up by an enthusiast chant for Martin O’Neill.
The message was received loud and clear but the Celtic Board has postponed the inevitable by giving Nancy two more matches to turn things round with two wins and six points in the Scottish Premiership matches against Aberdeen tomorrow at Celtic Park and away to Livingston a week today on Saturday 27 December.
Claims of training ground and dressing room disharmony have been growing, and whilst it could well be simply be nothing more than speculation, it’s something that is highly believable, something that is yet another indicator that Nancy’s position is unattainable.

Sunday sees us enter a run of difficult fixtures heading into the new year, with Aberdeen visiting Celtic Park, before difficult away trips to Livingston and Motherwell to negotiate before the year is out. There’s then the small matter of a Glasgow Derby at Paradise on 3 January to contend with, a game that is more vital than it should have been.
As the transfer window opens the Celtic Board could have a dilemma if Nancy is still holding on. Do they sign players to suit his system only for him to be sacked and a new manager almost certainly not going to play with a back three.
Then there’s the current Celtic squad with some might seeing January as a chance to escape from the current turmoil at the club. Today there was paper talk today (in Scottish Sun) the Brendan Rodgers could be set to launch a bid to take Callum McGregor to Saudi Arabia.

The Celtic captain, you would have thought, wouldn’t entertain any idea of leaving Celtic to play his football elsewhere but when you factor in the current turmoil, the skipper’s relationship with the new manager and the sums of money involved by playing in the mega-rich Saudi league then you can see that it’s not going to be the silliest suggestion he’ll hear over the coming weeks.
