David Potter tells the story of all 41 of Celtic’s Scottish Cup Final Triumphs

CELTIC’S SCOTTISH CUP FINAL VICTORIES – Number 37…CELTIC 2-1 ABERDEEN – HAMPDEN, 27 MAY 2017 – This was a truly remarkable game in what was a really good season for Brendan Rodgers’ men who were already being referred to as the “Invincibles”. Celtic had already won the other two trophies.

They had already beaten Aberdeen in the League Cup final quite easily, but this time Aberdeen put up a far better fight. The game was played in hot, humid conditions with thunderstorms going on all round the stadium. Aberdeen scored first through Johnny Hayes, then Stuart Armstrong equalised for Celtic before half time.

The second half saw an epic struggle with Celtic gradually gaining the ascendancy until late in the game when Tommy Rogic ran through and scored a great goal which saw the Celtic End at Hampden explode with joy. Kieran Tierney who had been taken off with a broken jaw was back in time to take part in the celebrations!

The Celtic team was: Gordon, Lustig, Simunovic, Boyata, Tierney (Rogic), McGregor, Brown, Armstrong, Roberts (Sviatchenko), Griffiths, Sinclair.
