Green Brigade announce ‘Corteo’ ahead of Glasgow Derby

THE GREEN BRIGADE will make sure that Glasgow is Green and White on the morning of 29 December ahead of the final Premiership match of 2019 against the Rangers at Celtic Park. And what is expected to be a spectacular procession will give them the chance to have their flares, fireworks and smoke-bomb fix outside the stadium.

The Ultras Group will meet at 10.45 at the CSA – the Celtic Supporters Association on London Road – and the ‘Corteo’ will begin to make its way to Paradise at 11am.

The Glasgow Derby kicks off at 12.30pm and obviously is a complete sell-out. The away support will be limited to around 800 after the Ibrox support moaned to their Board about the Celtic supporters ‘over celebrating’ in the Free Broomloan stand at Ibrox on a series of Beautiful Sundays, including of course the the 5-1 win there in 2017 and then the remarkable 3-2 victory with ten men in March 2018.

The Green Brigade have been in trouble recently for setting off fireworks inside grounds at Europa League matches and this has resulted in the club incurring UEFA fines. The Celtic Board took action by banning the section of the standing area for the match against Rennes at the end of last month but despite threatening a longer ban, the Ultras were back and in their usual place for the next home match against Hamilton and were in their usual place behind the goals at the Celtic end at the League Cup Final win over the Rangers earlier this month.

Yesterday they released details of the destination for the money raised at their recent Food Drive event at Celtic Park.

£17,897.60 collected and distributed – Green Brigade reveal ‘where your monetary donations have gone’ – so credit where credit is due.

The Green Brigade were there at Tynecastle last night (see photo at the top) supporting the team and enjoying the performance and the result that sees Celtic extend the lead at the top of the table to five points.
