JOHN KENNEDY is out of the running to become the new Hibs manager, according to STV Sports Reporter Raman Bhardwaj. Not that we are convinced that Kennedy would have gone to Easter Road anyway to replace Paul Heckingbottom who was sacked after the 5-2 defeat to Celtic in the League Cup semi-final.
Niall J put together an excellent piece on John Kennedy’s link to the Hibs job yesterday titled The Kennedy Conundrum and a Delicious Irony for the Sunshine on Leith Singers and shortly afterwards the Celtic Assistant manager came right in in the betting to 2/1 second favourite!
Hopefully no-one went anywhere near that one! The chances of Kennedy rejecting the chance to go to Leicester City with Rodgers and the rest, instead deciding to stay loyal to Celtic, only to then give all that up to go to take Neil Lennon’s old job at Easter Road seemed bizarre in the extreme.
Earlier today Christopher Jullien also pointed out that Kennedy loves Celtic too much to leave for the other side of the M8 and now Raman has taken time out from covering the Rangers to break this story – “John Kennedy is no longer a candidate” – music to our ears!
Hearing that Hibs shortlist for managerial post down two or three candidates, which includes Jack Ross. Celtic number 2 John Kennedy was considered for the post, but STV understands Kennedy is no longer a candidate
