It has been known for over a month now that Scott Brown is swapping the bright lights of Glasgow to join Aberdeen in a player-coach role; but that hasn’t stopped the tributes flowing in on a night where the skipper made his final venture onto Paradise in the famous green and white.
Thank you Broony. What a journey. Celtic legend.
Brown, who has been at Celtic for the best part of 14 years, played his final Paradise game tonight in a 4-0 drubbing of St Johnstone, picking up a precise assist in the first half along the way, with help from a wonderfully executed Odsonne Edouard finish – quite fitting for a player who has won almost everything in Celtic colours.
A turbulent season hasn’t given the 619-appearance skipper exactly what he wished for trophy-wise, but you cannot take anything away from the man who oversaw the quadruple treble and 9IAR – the fans who adore him certainly haven’t.
It’s too sad. Best of luck in your new adventure, Broony* 💚💛💚💛💚

Well done Captain! Was touching to see you give the armband to Forrest, another Celtic icon. Hopefully Soro going forward is a huge part of our midfield next season. 🥺👏🍀🏴

What a player @ScottBrown8 has been for @CelticFC. A leader on and off the park and 22 major trophies. Good luck at Aberdeen #ThankYouBroony pic.twitter.com/iRVs0RqM3h

He is getting the plaudits, and rightly so – Broony, if you’re reading this, you’ve earned it.
My hero, always has been, always will be.
We’ll see you back home in the future. Until then Broony, May God be with you.
