It’s always terrible when you see a player who just looks like a shadow of their former self. It’s often the case that they just need some time to get back into form, but it doesn’t always work out like that.
There’s no doubt that Scott Sinclair was outstanding for Celtic when he first arrived, his pace was outstanding and so was his scoring record, but then something went wrong.
It’s not clear if he lost his pace, if the opposition worked out how to play against him or if his confidence was just completely shot, but he ended up on the fringes of the squad under Neil Lennon.

A January move to Preston looked like a decent chance to rejuvenate his career again, but it’s not worked out like that. A report from the Deepdale Digest looked at his form since arriving, and it’s not a positive review.
He’s only managed one goal in ten games which is a poor return, but it’s also suggested that he’s being forced to play through the middle at times which doesn’t suit his game either.
It’s important to remember he is still trying to play his way back into form and they do concede he needs time to get that back, so hopefully he gets better between now and the end of the season.
Sinclair will always be fondly remembered at Celtic Park and it was a shame to see him go, but it sounds like it might have been the best thing for the club to do in a footballing sense.
