Roma distance themselves from Bolingoli link, according to Sky Sports reporter

AS ROMA have distanced themselves with a move for Bolingoli. The Daily Record reported that the Serie A side were interested in bringing the Belgian international to Italy. However, according to Sky Sports’ Anthony Joseph, the Italians have no interest in signing the 25-year-old.

The Celtic Star previously called links to Roma as being unlikely but now Sky Sports have confirmed that the player is not on the radar for the Stadio Olimpico side.

The report also claimed that Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir were also keen on brining the unwanted left back to their side as Neil Lennon looks to get him off the club’s books. Celtic are likely to want to get any fee that they can for Bolingoli, who signed from Rapid Vienna last summer for £2.5m. His indiscretions left Celtic without two matches preparation ahead of the match with Ferencvaros.

Roma are in the market for a new left back having sold Kolarov to Inter Milan but they are not interested in Bolingoli. Whilst Neil Lennon is still chasing potential left back targets to give Greg Taylor competition for a starting berth at Celtic. However, as a back up to this, signing a left footed central defender could allow for Moi Elyounoussi to play on the left with Jeremie Frimpong on the right.
