Ryan Porteous brilliantly mocks latest Ibrox outfit with Gerrard quip

After their demolition of the latest Ibrox club yesterday at Hampden Park, Hibernian’s Ryan Porteous and Martin Boyle were interviewed by Premier Sports’ Emma Dodds after the game. Porteous who has an equally strong loathing for the Govan side as they do for him, couldn’t resist having a pop during the post-match interview.

The cheeky Porteous, visibly excitable after his side’s 3-1 victory, said to reporter Emma Dodd’s: “Do we look happy?, don’t ask silly questions then?’ in an obvious dig at Steven Gerrard after his surley response to the same reporters question just before he jumped ship to the Premier League with Aston Villa.

The defeat yesterday has compounded a stream of endless misery for the nine-year-old club after their manager left them high and dry following the realisation they are in dire financial health. The days of whacky spending are over at Ibrox with the club posting tremendous losses yet again – with still no interjection from the footballing authorities or outcry from the Mainstream Media in this country.

The latest defeat was bad enough, but Porteous’ spikey barb will be killing a support that have been living in a world of make believe for a considerable amount of time now. If their new man in the dugout can’t get a tune from the quasi-superstars at Ibrox, there could be choppy waters ahead as they come to terms with their crumbling foundations.

Meanwhile, take a look at this absolute hoot of an interview…

I'm a Garngad Bhoy through and through. My first ever Celtic game was a friendly against Italian side Parma at Celtic Park, in 2002. Currently a student of English Literature and Education at the University of Strathclyde for my sins. Favourite game would be a toss up between beating Manchester United with that Naka freekick, or the game against the Oldco when Hesselink scored in the dying seconds. I'm still convinced Cal Mac is wasted playing that far back.
