Time is up for Michael Nicholson, Paul Tisdale and Wilfried Nancy

Almost a year on from the sale of Kyogo, and we’ve still to replace him. A further indictment of the club’s incompetence on the recruitment front…

Nigh on a year ago saw the departure of Kyogo Furuhashi to Rennes in a £10 million deal, and the fact that we’ve still to replace the Japanese talisman speaks volumes for our club’s incompetence when it comes to the recruitment side of things.

Poor Michael Nicholson and co are still pining over the exit of their good pal and mentor Pistol Pete, whilst forever crying about what they claim is unfair criticism from the supporters and fan media, but the truth is that they should consider themselves lucky to be in a job as in no other industry would they still be cashing their pay cheques.

But Dermot loves his puppets and that’s all Michael and his cronies are, mere puppets to the billionaire Irishman, who merely obey his every command in a bid to increase the ever growing profit in his business interest that is Celtic Football Club.

A business interest is all our club to the Irish tycoon, despite his claims that he has Celtic’s best interest at heart. If Desmond really did have any interest in the wellbeing of the club, then he would have taken action over the gross mismanagement that has plagued the corridors of Celtic Park for quite some time, more so in the past 12 months.

The Kyogo saga was the start of a downward spiral in our fortunes, a conundrum that still hasn’t been resolved. 11 months on and 30 odd million in transfer incomings, and remarkably we’ve still to fill the void of a man who provided 85 goals in 165 games. Our only answer to the problem being injury prone free agent Kelechi Iheanacho who was ushered in as a panic buy hours after the summer window slammed shut.

Chris McKay and Paul Tisdale - It's time to go

The self proclaimed Football Doctor Paul Tisdale must take his share of the blame, but Desmond and his minions are the one that hired him and promoted him ABOVE the Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers – who had won 11 trophies from 13 as Celtic manager – and they still continue to back Tisdale despite his constant failures on the recruitment side of things, the job he was hired to do!

Not content with wrecking our squad Tisdale saw his chance when Rodgers was disgracefully chased out of the building with Desmond’s nasty rant ringing in his ears, and his led to his old pals act of recommending Wilfried Nancy to replace Rodgers.

This is yet more evidence of the glaringly obvious incompetence that runs through our club. When will Desmond ever act to rectify it?  He hasn’t listened to us but maybe Rod Stewart’s welcome intervention yesterday – the first sign of disharmony from inside the tent – will make him see sense.

Dermot Desmond is employing a manager, a Director of football operations and a CEO who are nowhere near the level required for the jobs they are in. None are qualified and none have done anything at all to suggest they are going to succeed, despite Nicholson going on and being world class in everything they do.

Peter Lawwell has – finally – gone. Now it’s time for Michael Nicholson, Paul Tisdale and Wilfried Nancy to follow him out the door. Those are the minimum requirements.

I Witnessed my first Celtic game in 1988 and have attended when I can ever since. Growing up in the 90s I witnessed Celtic at their lowest, and now appreciate the historic success we enjoy today. I enjoy writing about this wonderful football club and hopefully will continue to do so. I’ve always been a keen writer and initially started this a hobby. My ambition is to one day become as good an author as my fellow Celtic Star colleagues.

  1. Hear Hear. Nicholson – Tisdale – Nancy, out!

Helter Skelter football. Last time I saw it played was when I played school football, ten of us chased the ball as Shorty remained behind minding the goals.
