Celtic travelled to Germany four years ago. They came away with a respectable draw, but it could and should have been more.

Scott Sinclair hit the inside of the post with a stunning curling effort from the left hand side. Callum McGregor missed an absolute golden opportunity in the closing minutes when one on one with the keeper. Meanwhile, Moussa Dembele scored for Celtic from the penalty spot.

It was another game, in a long line of European away matches, when Celtic had performed well and come away with a draw. Realistically, you’d have to say that the days of being unable to compete away from home in Europe have gone, Celtic just need to turn the performances from draws into victories as they did in Lazio.
