Sky Sports released a wonderful and nostalgic montage before the title clinching win at Tannadice this afternoon, which featured every Celtic title-winning moment in Scottish football since Wim Jansen stopped the Rangers winning Ten-in-a-row back in 1998 against St Johnstone at Paradise…

Amongst the clips featured some fantastic memories from years gone by, such as Martin O’Neil’s inaugural Scottish Premier League win in 2001, when Geordie bhoy Tommy Johnson grabbed the only goal of the game, as we beat St Mirren 1-0 at home once again to start an historic moment and what would be a new era at Celtic Park following the Fergus McCann rebuild and bringing the Irishman up the road from Leicester City.

Likewise, Gordon Strachan’s 2008 title-winning moment at Tannadice, when Jan Venegoor of Hesselink rose high from a Paul Hartley corner to seal the victory and snatch the crown from under the noses of our arch-rivals who bottled it on the last day to Aberdeen. That one has remained a special occasion for many Celtic supporters as it coincided with losing the great Tommy Burns and was a season that was dubbed ‘Twists and Turns’ due to it’s obvious connotations to the club legend.
It’s a great trip down memory lane for those of a Celtic persuasion and a reminder once again of just how dominant we have been over the past two decades or so in Scotland, following a barron period for the club and our supporters. The tables have well and truly turned and we are living in the most dominant era in our glorious history, much to the disdain of the blue side of town.
Here we go… Five-in-a-row now!
