Watch Jack Ross’ Sides Frustrate Celtic

Jack Ross will return to the visitors dugout at Celtic Park today as Hibs manager with the knowledge that on his last two visits, he has successfully frustrated the Scottish Champion, albeit without winning. Ross will be hoping to go one better when the Edinburgh side visit Neil Lennon’s team in Glasgow’s East End.

Celtic 2 Alloa Athletic 0 – 2016

In Ross’ first managerial role, Alloa Athletic arrived at Celtic Park in the League Cup quarter finals with little or no hope of a result. However, with the clock showing 80 minutes, it looked as if Alloa were going to take the game to extra-time. Late goals from James Forrest and Moussa Dembele sealed Celtic’s place in the Last Four while Brendan Rodgers suggested that the resilient Wasps made life very difficult for Celtic.

Celtic 4 St Mirren 1 – 2017

Ross moved to St Mirren in October 2016, weeks after the defeat at Celtic Park – now he was back at Celtic Park with his new team in the Scottish Cup. He enjoyed a dream start as the Buddies’ Harry Davis put the Paisley team in front and shortly before half time, Moussa Dembele deflected a free-kick onto the Celtic bar. A relieved Celtic made it to the break just 1-0 down. A second half display from Brendan Rodgers’ side with goals from Lustig, Sinclair, Dembele and Griffiths gave Celtic the goals they needed to see of Ross’ team.
