Armstrong, McGinn or Christie? The Celtic support voted, the results are in

We asked at the end of last week which one of three players you’d choose to play in The Celtic midfield, based purely on footballing reasons.

The three players mentioned could have been in the current Celtic side but as we all know the first one mentioned, Stuart Armstrong wanted a move and was transferred to Southampton in the summer for £7million. As we have reported earlier today, the player has no regrets about moving to the Saints – see HERE.

The second option was John McGinn, who moved from Hibs to Aston Villa in August after spending much of the summer waiting for Celtic and the Easter Road club to come to an agreement on a move to Parkhead.

And the third choice was Ryan Christie, who had been a bit-player at Celtic for quite some time before getting a chance to show what he could do when he replaced the injured Olivier Ntcham at half-time in the Betfred Cup semi-final at Murrayfield. He certainly grabbed his chance and has subsequently earned a new 3 year deal with the club.

The question we asked was this one.

You have a choice of 3 Scotland international midfielders and you can only select one to play for Celtic. Who do you choose?

So far 1666 supporters have voted (you can vote only once incidentally) so that is a faint large cross section of The Celtic support for polling purposes.

The clear winner is Ryan Christie who has picked up 1348 supporters’ votes so far. That is 81% of the total votes cast.

John McGinn was second, gaining 186 votes (11%) while Stuart Armstrong got 132 votes, which is just 8%.

The Poll remains open, if you want to vote or check on the updated results…
