Celtic 2-1 RB Leipzig: “Everything you’ve heard about Celtic Park is true. Incredible atmosphere,” Leipzig fan

CELTIC PARK on the big European nights has a worldwide reputation as probably the most atmospheric footballing arena in the game. Last night 2500 RB Leipzig fans travelled over to Glasgow and this was their biggest ever away support for a match in European competition.

All German fans know how to support their team and the away support last night certainly did that, and were later thanked by their club as we reported HERE.

We carried another article yesterday about the super-clubs in the European game, conspiring to create a breakaway league so they can play against themselves ad clear up on the huge television revenues that they think such a breakaway league would attract.

You get the feeling that supporters of teams like Celtic and Leipzig would have little or no interest in watching such a competition and would prefer the ‘real’ football that they watched last night in a ‘real’ football stadium.

And if you give supporters of clubs around Europe the chance to watch a hollow fixture in this breakaway competition between two money-bags clubs or what was on offer at Celtic Park last night, then ‘real’ football fans will always opt for the type of game we all enjoyed last night.

Here’s some Leipzig fans’ reactions to their unforgettable night in Paradise…

“Everything you’ve heard about Celtic Park is true. Incredible atmosphere,” Dom Edmundson, a London based RB Leipzig fan said after his first trip to Celtic Park last night for the Europa League match which Celtic won 2-1.

Another Leipzig fan wrote:

“Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Congratulations on winning. Great stadium vibe at Celtic Park and nice Celtic FC fans, like to come back. In summary, it now stands 3:2 for RB Leipzig. Top light show before the game.”
