Celtic 2 -1 RB Leipzig: ‘The Atmosphere got to us,’ – RB Leipzig star

THE RB LEIPZIG manager last night bemoaned his team’s carelessness in conceding a second goal only seconds after they managed to get themselves back on level terms.

“We had a good second half and worked hard enough to earn a 1-1 draw. But then we were careless in defence. If you get an equaliser and then have the psychological advantage, you can’t concede again so quickly like that,” Ralf Rangnick said.

Leipzig star Marcel Halstenberg reckoned that the amazing atmosphere inside the remarkable Celtic Park last night got to some of his team-mates.

“We were a step behind too often today and made too many misplaced passes. Perhaps the atmosphere got to one or two of us as well. Now we’ve got to move on – on Sunday we’re back in Bundesliga action against Leverkusen,” Halstenberg stated.

Meanwhile Marcel Sabitzer reckons that the loss to Celtic was avoidable.

“Today’s defeat was avoidable and unnecessary. We just weren’t clinical enough up front. When you concede just seconds after scoring, then that’s extremely unfortunate,” he said.

Meanwhile RB Leipzig have thanked their 2500 supporters who contributed greatly to the wonderful atmosphere last night at Celtic Park and will no doubt be raving about their experience when they get back home.

“A massive thank you to all the Rb Leipzig fans who travelled to Glasgow – your support was invaluable,” the German club stated.
