Celtic transfer gossip: Mixed news on potential exits for two key players, free agent encouraged to sign and £9m price tag may prove too much

Neil Lennon spoke a few days ago about being happy with the squad and how Celtic didn’t need to make any major adjustments, and that’s been reflected in the transfer news recently.

Most stories look at players who are leaving or who could leave for a big fee this summer, but there’s still no real sign that anyone is close to an exit.

Kristoffer Ajer seems the most likely to go thanks to his agent trying to push for an exit, but that seems less likely after the news emerged that Brendan Rodgers and Leicester wouldn’t be looking to pursue him any further just now.

There is the possibility of a move to AC Milan as they outlined some tactical plans for him, but they have plenty of problems behind the scenes just now.

Odsonne Edouard will eventually go for a big fee and plenty of punters are putting their money on him joining Arsenal, but there’s nothing official to suggest a deal is close for him either.

Patryk Klimala and Vaoun Bayo haven’t done enough to suggest they should be challenging for a first team spot at this point, so there’s always speculation about a new striker coming in.

The latest story from France suggested that Celtic were interested in Clermont Foot striker Adrian Grbic, but a £9m price tag makes that look incredible unlikely.

And finally to a possible incoming that does sound likely. Jordon Ibe has been spoken about a lot in recent weeks and it looks like he will be available on a free transfer this summer.

He would be a risk and Lenny would need to know that his attitude was spot on, but he has been encouraged to make the move to Celtic Park to revive his career.
