Former Celt Andreas Hinkel says Moussa Diaby is Leverkusen’s biggest threat

Former Celtic right back Andreas Hinkel, has made the claim that Bayer Leverkusen’s danger man is Moussa Diaby ahead of their match against Celtic at Paradise tomorrow. With a wealth of talent to choose from in their ranks, which includes Scotland torturer, Patrik Schick, as well as new kid on the block, Florian Wirtz, Hinkel still insists that Celtic’s attention should be towards Diaby tomorrow night in Glasgow.

Patrik Schick

Hinkel, who has performed various roles at Stuttgart over in Germany said: “Since his strike from the halfway line at Euro 2020, the Scottish people all know who Patrik Schick is, as reported by print edition of Scottish Daily Mail. But even before the tournament, he was rated a really good player in Germany. But even before the tournament, he was rated a really good player in Germany.”

“He came to Leipzig after a spell in Italy with Roma and it didn’t quite work out at Leipzig. But he has since shown how good he is at Leverkusen. He’s a top-quality player who can score different kinds of goals. We saw that at the Euros. But Leverkusen have other dangerous players.”

“There is Florian Wirtz, the 18-year-old German international who everyone talks about, but there’s also Moussa Diaby. I first saw Diaby playing for France at the Under-17 European Championship and he was one of the best players. He was playing for Paris Saint-Germain but it is really hard to come through to the first team in Paris.

“Now Diaby is one of the most expensive players in the Leverkusen squad and he’s made his full debut for France. He’s a fast winger, who scores goals and gets assists as well.”

With an embarrassment of riches at their disposal, Leverkusen certainly have the upper hand in the tie – especially with Celtic’s recent injury record. However, if memory serves, the night we beat the mighty Barcelona at Celtic Park there was a bit of a makeshift side, and we managed to come away with a victory. Tomorrow night the fans will need to make Diaby and Co. feel the might of the Jungle, as bigger men than they have been lost in the Parkhead cauldron.

Come on Celtic, give us the kick-start our season needs!

I'm a Garngad Bhoy through and through. My first ever Celtic game was a friendly against Italian side Parma at Celtic Park, in 2002. Currently a student of English Literature and Education at the University of Strathclyde for my sins. Favourite game would be a toss up between beating Manchester United with that Naka freekick, or the game against the Oldco when Hesselink scored in the dying seconds. I'm still convinced Cal Mac is wasted playing that far back.
