‘Is there a concerted plot to crock Ryan Christie?’ asks David Potter

This was not the easiest game to watch, I must confess, and the second goal was a great relief rather than anything else.

Even though we were in every way far superior, 1-0 is always a dangerous, precarious lead, and accidents can happen.

But no misfortune befell us and we move on three points the richer over a team which I would say is a better team than St Mirren, for example. They had more cohesion about their defence and more ability to get their bodies in the way of shots.

It was ironic that Celtic’s first two goals should came from absolute howlers of goalkeeping errors, because Hamilton’s goalkeeper also had some tremendous saves, one in particular after a great run from Scott Sinclair in the first half.

The goalkeeper Ryan Fulton really kept Hamilton in it on many occasions. His two errors were bad however but credit to Celtic for taking advantage.

Celtic, it would have to be said, had a few weaknesses yesterday.

Mikael Lustig has seen better games, and Rodgers (a belated Happy Birthday, by the way, Brendan!) was right to hook Mikey Johnston, who was quite poor yesterday, and Tim Weah, who had a little bad luck and perhaps now better understands the grim realities of Scottish football on a wet January day..James Forrest certainly made a huge difference, and Oliver Burke should have done better with at least one chance, but certainly put himself about in a gratifying way.

Is there a concerted plot to crock Ryan Christie?

He always seems to be the victim of bad tackles, and every team seems to like to have a go at him, but that of course may be because he is simply so good.

Scott Sinclair continues to improve. It was certainly a good goal he took, and he might have had a few more.

Generally Celtic, without being anything like at their best, ground out a victory, and it is three points in the bag. On Wednesday night, there will be a tougher prospect in St Johnstone, a team whom we will better get used to for we play them in three out of the next four games.

It was nice to see the support given to Brendan Rodgers by the Green Brigade. I hope the Directors listen to what the supporters want. Four or five days to go in the transfer window.
