Neil Lennon to l’Équipe – ‘Edouard is brilliant, and I’m not just talking about his goals’

CELTIC manager Neil Lennon has been speaking to the respected French newspaper l’Équipe about the man of the moment, the Celtic and France Under 21 goalscoring machine Odsonne Edouard.

“Edouard is brilliant, and I’m not just talking about his goals,” Lenny said.

“His way of integrating into the game is spectacular. He has magical feet and he’s faster than you’d think. His last double in the cup final gave him a lot of confidence.”

Earlier today we reported on what Odsonne himself has been saying to l’Équipe about playing for Celtic. French football writer Jeremy Smith has reported on a few quotes from Celtic’s Star striker Odsonne Edouard after his goalscoring debut for the French Under 21s last week against Albania.

Edouard came on at the internal and has put himself in the spotlight on the international stage by netting twice in France’s 4-0 win.

“A couple of nice quotes in l’Equipe from Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard. On his 2 goals on his France U21 debut: “It’s a good start – but it’s just a start. It’s great to play in France again. Knowing many of my teammates – from other age groups and from Paris – makes it easier.”” Smith reported.

And on his current form at Celtic, which incidentally is widely reported in French sports pages, French Eddie had this to say: “”it’s normal for me to be scoring – I’m a striker! At Celtic there is lots of pressure – you should come and see a match to experience the atmosphere. I’ve got used to it and couldn’t be enjoying it more.”

Now the Celtic manager has added his own thoughts on just how special a player is. We thought that Moussa Dembele was something special, well whisper it, Odsonne Edouard is even better. Perhaps and almost certainly the best Celtic striker since Henrik Larsson.
