No Swap Shop – Taylor’s Transfer takes another Twist

GREG TAYLOR’S move to Celtic has taken another twist as the clock ticks down towards the midnight hour when the Window will slam shut and supporters will reflect on how things have panned out over the summer.

We provided a detailed look at arrivals and departures already confirmed this morning – see HERE – as well as looking at what MIGHT happen today in terms of any in-coming or out-going deals.

And as widely reported both Jack Hendry and Calvin Miller were included in the complex deal that would see Greg Taylor get his move to Celtic confirmed.

It appears that both clubs and Taylor were all happy with this deal but neither of the two Celtic fringe players fancies a move to Kilmarnock. Whether that’s down to working with the new manager down there – how long is he going to last? – of perhaps worries about playing on the awful plastic surface, no-one knows. What we do know is that the cash plus player swap deal is OFF and Celtic are now negotiating a cash deal only.

The Daily Mail’s respected football writer Stephen McGowan re-tweeted this update.

This however takes us back into the realms of last week’s poker match when Pistol Pete reckoned that Billy Bowie was bluffing when he called £3million for his star man. Celtic are ending up to the £2million mark now with just over 8 hours to the window closes.

It’s going to be late, it’s going to be tense. But hopefully it’s going to get done.
