Scottish Cup match with St Johnstone moved to Sun 10 Feb, 1.30pm kick-off

CELTIC’S 5th Round Scottish Cup tie at home St Johnstone will be broadcast live on television and will take place on Sunday 10 February with a 1.30pm kick-off. The tie will be shown live on Premier Sports for those not going along to the game.

The full 5th Round details are as follows:

Saturday, 9 February 2019 (Kick-off 5.15pm); Kilmarnock v Cowdenbeath or Rangers – live on Premier Sports

Sunday, 10 February 2019 (Kick-off 1.30pm); Celtic v St. Johnstone – live on Premier Sports

Sunday, 10 February 2019 (Kick-off 3.30pm); Aberdeen or Stenhousemuir v Dundee or Queen of the South – live on BBC Scotland

Monday, 11 February 2019 (Kick-off 7.15pm); Ross County v Inverness Caledonian Thistle – live on BBC Scotland.

With the current cold spell settling in AFTER the Rangers kit man Jimmy Bell apparently forced the cancellation of their 4th Round tie at Cowdenbeath on last Friday evening – according to former Ibrox Chairman Donald Findlay – you have to winder when the Cowdenbeath pitch will be free from frost to play the tie.

A few more postponements and they’ll be screaming for the season to be extended!

Yesterday David Potter provided us with the story so far of Celtic and St Johnstone in the Scottish Cup and it’s a great read – check it out.

David Potter on Celtic, St Johnstone and the Scottish Cup

Before this Scottish Cup tie Celtic and St Johnstone play each other home and away in the Premiership. Next Wednesday the Perthshire Saints come to Celtic Park – this is Celtic’s game in hand over rivals Kilmarnock, the Rangers and Aberdeen. Then the the following Sunday, Celtic travel to Perth for our first away game of the season and hopefully James Forrest will recreate the brilliant goal scoring performance from the earlier visit to McDiarmid Park this season.
