Lifelong Celtic supporter John Higgins couldn’t help but take a playful jab at Ally McCoist while the two shared a light-hearted moment on TV at the Crucible…

Ally McCoist made a special appearance with the TNT Sports snooker commentary crew, broadcasting from the iconic World Snooker Championships in Sheffield.
Sharing the studio with McCoist were commentator Darren Fletcher, snooker stars John Higgins and Alan McManus, with Ronnie O’Sullivan also stepping in for part of the conversation. Though McCoist and John Higgins share a close friendship, the snooker legend couldn’t resist slipping in a dig at his mate.

Off-camera, both McCoist and Fletcher managed to sink Dennis Taylor’s iconic black ball shot during a bit of light-hearted fun. “We both had a go at Dennis’s winning black, and would it surprise you at all to know that Ally,” Fletcher spoke up just before Higgins cut in with his comment.
Causing a burst of laughter, Higgins remarked: “I’ve watched him enough at the Rangers over the years!” McCoist replied: “We both got it; the worrying thing is we used Jimmy [White’s] cue. I couldn’t believe how light his cue was.”

Higgins subsequently questioned McCoist regarding the future of Celtic’s manager, Brendan Rodgers.
Higgins asked: “I’ve just seen reports that [Daniel] Levy is trying to get Brendan Rodgers to go to Tottenham Hotspur – is there any truth in that rumour?”
McCoist replied: “John, I’ll be honest with you mate, I’m trying to get him to go anywhere!”
Unfortunately for TNT Sports’ most irritating co-commentator, Rodgers confirmed pre-match against Kilmarnock two weeks ago that it is “150 per cent certain” he will be in the Celtic dugout ahead of next season’s campaign.

Expectedly there will be significant interest in the Irishman due to his relentless domestic success, Champions League improvements and his elite managerial status but he isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
