‘Celtic should run their own streaming service and call it Caflix,’ reckons Chairman Lmao

THERE was much frustration last night among the Celtic Supporters who could not get to Paradise to see the 5-0 win over Partick Thistle. BT Sport had opted to show the Livingston v the Rangers match, rather than the game of Celtic Park or perhaps what looked like the best game on paper, Hearts v Aberdeen. The other game, Kilmarnock v Hibs was also played on plastic – just like in Livingston and the broadcasters really should factor in the truism expressed by the former Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers that he’d never seen a decent game on these plastic pitches.

Derek McInnes was on the television after his side won at Livingston at the weekend and talked about ‘winning ugly’ and was not prepared to make any apology for that given the surface. Celtic got an early goal at Hamilton a few weeks back and decided thereafter to see the game out with that lead secure. There was precious little football from the otherwise rampant champions. David Potter pointed out on The Celtic Star this morning that Celtic have now scored an incredible 50 goals this season – 49 of them have been on grass.

The Bhoys on Etims, some of whom have to travel up from England to see the games, were complaining in the diary this morning about the lack of streaming from last night’s game.

“There were no streams available for the match last night, Celtic deciding to block the usual sources as the feeling is that if there were no streams then people would come to the game, failing to realise just how many of us live too far away to make that practical, and completely underestimating how many of us would pay to watch one,” they argued.

And they noted that Celtic TV ‘trotted out the usual excuses’.

“For everyone asking about #CelticTV broadcasting live in the UK & Ireland. We are not the rights holders in the UK & Ireland for this competition. Our licence is for outside the UK & Ireland only. Thanks.”

“Fair enough, but when the talks for those rights are back at the table, maybe the club should consider a bid, as there doesn’t seem to be too many sponsors throwing money at the game right now, and they’ll probably cost less than a couple of pies and a bovril at the ground.

“Still, it’s refreshing to see such an effort put in to lock any illegal streams, and we can look forward with confidence to the club fighting for justice along with shareholders as the Resolution 12 issue moves towards a conclusion at the next AGM,” the Diary added.

The BBC were delighted to see the Rangers progress and noted just how impressively consistent that they have been in this competition over the last four years. They just about managed to stop short of claiming some sort of world record though.

Have a look at the state of this comment from the publicly funded broadcaster.

Not one single mention of this record…

It was left to Chairman Lmao to have the final word and made a suggestion that could see a complete rebranding of Celtic TV.
