Chris Sutton weighed in on theRangers after the dismissal last night of ‘Belgian waffler’ Philippe Clement last night…

Despite Celtic’s controversial 2-1 loss to Hibs at Easter Road, Brendan Rodgers’ side remain 13 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership table and there are now 31 goals between Celtic and their managerless title ‘rivals’ that no-one can see coming.
Sutton, who loves to throw in a dig or two at the expense of the latest Ibrox club took to X over the weekend. He said:
“Even when the door is left ajar… dear me, time for change.”
In response to theRangers sacking Philippe Clement last night, Sutton tweeted on the platform:
“On October 30 after the defeat to Aberdeen myself and Kris Boyd said it was time for Big Phil to go. The Rangers board didn’t listen… He seemed to be a decent man but didn’t understand the demands of football in Glasgow. Another [the]Rangers manager seen off by Brendan Rodgers.”

The Hoops were let off the hook on Saturday and with 11 games of the Premiership season left, Rodgers’ men are now six victories away from clinching their fourth consecutive league title, assuming of course that theRangers keep winning their own matches.
Celtic now turn their attention to Aberdeen tomorrow night where after not winning a league match since November, Jimmy Thelin’s Dons have won back-to-back games in the Premiership and have returned to third in the table.

The Scottish champions have the chance to move 16 points clear at the Premiership’s summit with Kilmarnock hosting theRangers at Rugby Park on Wednesday evening. Derek McInnes will be in the running for the Ibrox job that he has previously turned down due to his concerns about the new club and how it was being run. With Dave King gone the former Rangers FC midfielder might fancy it this time around.
